Oh, the summer, that sweaty beast,
When we play a little rough, to say the least.
It’s left our garments in quite a state,
Now, let’s honor those that met their fate.
That saucy schnitzel, warmly beer-battered,
Marks our t-shirt, now stained and tattered.
Rest in peace, ye favorite friend,
You earned a break; this is your end.
The hat you wore for every occasion,
Left it behind on a family vacation.
Or maybe it sank to the deep of the river,
When the last thing on your mind was the state of your liver.
Here’s to you, dear fallen threads,
Once so beautiful, now left in shreds.
You served us well through every laugh,
We’ll tell tall tales on your behalf.
You gave us your all through every quest.
But now it is time we move on to the next.
