Because Nothing Screams "Fashion Icon" Like a Flightless Bird with a Need for Speed.

Hold onto your fishing hats and pearl snap shirts, folks—River Road Clothing Co. has a new face of the brand, and no, it’s not your bearded cousin Chad who thinks flannel shirts are a personality trait. It’s Roadie the Roadrunner—our very own feathered, fast-footed ambassador of chaos, grit, and questionable decision-making.

Why a roadrunner? Well, we were torn between a mountain goat with commitment issues and a marmot who freelances as a barista, but Roadie won us over with his unmatched ability to outrun your excuses for not going outside. Plus, he’s got killer style for a bird who doesn’t wear pants.

Stick around as we introduce Roadie, decode his wild ways (spoiler: there’s probably moonshine involved), and explain why he’s basically the spirit animal of anyone who’s ever road-tripped in a truck that smells like beef jerky and ambition.

Meet Roadie, the newest member of the River Road team! We chose the roadrunner (nature’s turbocharged chicken) as the mascot for our brand because they’ll outrun a snake, side-eye a coyote, and still have time to laugh at your jogging pace. These little speed demons don’t need flight—they’ve got hardworking legs and an attitude.

Roadie prepared a few facts about himself to help us get to know what it will be like to have a roadrunner around the office.

Roadie The Roadrunner Mascot River RoadRoadrunners can run at speeds up to 20 miles per hour, so we won't be racing him to the printer.

~~~
Roadrunners eat a variety of foods, including insects, reptiles, and even other birds, so no chocolate cake for him in the breakroom.
~~~
Roadrunners are skilled hunters who catch and eat venomous prey like rattlesnakes, so we'll refrain from any "new guy" hazing pranks.

~~~
Male roadrunners perform elaborate courtship displays, including offering food to the females while performing a dance. We have been advised that this is a strict violation of HR policies.
~~~
Roadrunners communicate using a series of cooing and clicking sounds. They also use body language, such as raising and lowering their crest. We are having HR look into this one, too.

In the wild, roadrunners can live up to 8 years, which is relatively long for a bird of their size.

But we plan to have him around for a long, long time.
